Automatic Tax Calculations
Federal income tax, Social Security, Medicare, net pay, and YTD totals update as you enter earnings. Estimates initially use Single filing status with no W-4 adjustments; review your settings below. State and local estimates use the payroll tax state, allowances, and locality you select below.
Automatic Pay Dates
Choose the latest actual pay date and pay frequency. Dates run backward for the requested number of stubs. Review the suggested schedule; turn off automatic dates to edit individual dates. Hourly earnings use each period’s actual hours; yearly salary is divided by pay frequency. Existing withholding stays tied to its period.
State & Local Tax Auto-Fill
Select the worker’s payroll tax state and applicable city/county. Amounts update from earnings, pay frequency, and the settings below. These are estimates for ordinary 2026 resident wages with no pretax benefits. Review against the employee’s state withholding certificate. Cross-state work, reciprocity, and special wage rules require actual payroll amounts.
Additional State Certificate Settings
Zero allowances are used initially. Change these settings to match the employee’s certificate. Local taxes are not applied just because the state taxes wages. Listed locality profiles cover selected jurisdictions; use the recorded combined rate for other locations.
Pay Dates
Enter actual pay dates and payroll figures. Add earlier periods as needed; review automatically suggested dates.

Add Earnings, Benefits, or Deductions
